'I hit the gym before walking down the aisle - here's why it's a good idea'

The lead-up to your can be filled with stress, nerves, excitement, and anticipation. There is a lot to think about when it comes to saying 'I do' in front of your loved ones, and some brides can also face the added pressure of how they look and feel on the day of their nuptials, with many hitting the gym hard in the days leading up. But one bride took it a step further and had a quick before walking down the aisle.
In a video shared on the TikTok account '@_thebrunettechick', the fitness enthusiast bride was dressed in a stunning strapless white gown with her long brown locks styled down in waves and a full glam face of makeup. But before tying the knot, had an arm workout with dumbbells for an extra pump.
In the caption, she wrote: "All jokes but wait for the STRUT." At the end of the video, the bride walked confidently through the venue after ditching the usual sip of fizz for an exercise routine. The video has racked up more than 6million views and secured over 800K comments as people questioned whether you should work out on the morning of your wedding day or not.

One commented: "I’d be red faced and sweaty but you look fantastic." A second penned: "Me taking notes for my wedding day." A third penned: "This is actually genius though and now I have regrets," while another added: "I did the same thing and had the same wedding dress."
In response to the viral video, personal trainer Jade Imani from Insure4Sport (www.insure4sport.co.uk) has shared her advice on whether brides should opt for a last-minute pump.
Jade shared: "Whether or not you should workout on your wedding day is up to you as an individual. For some a short, light workout can help them feel energised and confident and more relaxed which makes it a great addition to the wedding morning routine. However, I wouldn’t recommend anything too intense - this isn’t the time for a full gym session or a high impact workout. Less is more!"
"A quick pump can enhance muscle definition temporarily, especially in the arms and shoulders, but it won’t drastically change how you look in photos," the PT said. "What will make the biggest difference is the training done in the months leading up to the wedding, not just a last-minute session."
What are the disadvantages?Jade explained: "There’s always the risk of unexpected soreness, sweating (which isn’t ideal for hair and makeup), or even minor injuries if movements aren’t performed correctly. Plus, weddings are often packed with nerves and emotions, so adding another task to the day could add unnecessary stress if it’s not in your usual routine."
If you are looking for a quick workout on your big day, Jade has shared her top three exercises that won't leave you feeling tired and sweaty.
Seated or Standing Shoulder Press: (with light weights or resistance bands) "A simple movement to activate and lightly tone the shoulders and arms, helping with posture and giving a subtle 'pump' for photos."
Cat-Cow Stretch or Sun Salutations:
Bodyweight Squats or Glute Bridges: "These help improve circulation, engage the core and lower body, and can help maintain good posture throughout the day."
